Teardrop gems are the shape that makes a manicure look designed: a single stone pointing up from the cuticle, a row along a French line, a cluster that reads like petals. These faceted glass teardrops are about 5.5 x 8 mm with a flat back, large enough to be seen from across a table and small enough to sit on a short nail.

Each bag holds 100 pieces of one color. Packs are built as trios, a rainbow six and a nine-bag studio set, so you get colors that work together instead of guessing from a 40-color chart.

What is in each pack

Each bag holds 100 gems of one color. Gel, top coat, glue and a pick-up tool are not included.

  • Pastel Trio: three bags of Pink, Light Blue and Light Green.
  • Jewel Trio: three bags of Dark Blue, Dark Green and Siam Red.
  • AB Sparkle Trio: three bags of AB, Aurora and Champagne AB, clear gems with a rainbow surface.
  • Rainbow Six: six bags, the Pastel and Jewel trios together.
  • Studio Nine: nine bags, the Pastel, Jewel and AB trios together.

Who it is for

  • Beginners: teardrops are easy to place because the point shows you which way they face.
  • Hobbyists: build flower and petal shapes by arranging teardrops around a round center stone.
  • Nail artists: a nine-color studio set covers most client color requests for statement nails.

How to set them

  1. Cure your color gel and apply a small dot of gel or rhinestone glue where the gem will sit.
  2. Pick up a teardrop with a wax pencil or tweezers and place it flat side down with the point toward the cuticle or the tip.
  3. Press gently, then cure if you used gel.
  4. Seal the edges with a thin line of top coat, avoiding the top of the gem so the facets keep their shine.

Good to know

These are decorative gems for nails and craft work. Colors on screen can differ slightly from the bag, and AB finishes show different colors with the light. Some photos in the gallery show gems on display tips; the tips are not included. Gems have a flat back and are meant to be glued or set in gel.

Frequently asked questions

How big are the gems?

The size is about 5.5 x 8 mm, a teardrop shape with a flat back. On a short nail one gem is a statement stone.

How many gems come in each bag?

Each bag holds 100 pieces of one color, so a trio gives you 300 gems and the Studio Nine gives you 900.

Are the gems made of glass?

Yes, they are faceted glass with a flat back.

What is AB?

AB stands for aurora borealis, a coating that gives clear gems a rainbow sheen that changes with the light.

How do I make them stay on?

Set them in gel or rhinestone glue, press gently and seal around the edges with top coat. Avoid snagging them on fabric in the first day.
