Chrome powder is applied over cured gel with a no-wipe top coat base, buffed in with an applicator and sealed with top coat. The finish depends on the color you pick and the base underneath: a black base gives the deepest mirror effect, while a white or pastel base keeps the shimmer softer.

How to apply chrome powder

1. Cure a gel color on the nail; black or a dark color gives the strongest mirror effect.
2. Apply a thin coat of no-wipe gel top coat and cure it fully so the surface is smooth and dry to the touch.
3. Press a small amount of powder onto the nail with a sponge or silicone applicator and buff it in small circles until the finish is even.
4. Brush off the loose powder with a clean brush.
5. Seal with a no-wipe top coat, covering the free edge, and cure.

Tips for a clean finish

• Swatch each powder on a display stick first to see how it looks over your base color.
• Work with one hand at a time so the top coat does not pick up dust.
• Keep a separate applicator for each color to avoid mixing shades.
