Half-cover tips, sometimes called well tips, cover only the front part of the nail. They give you length and a clean free edge without hiding the whole natural nail, which makes them a forgiving first step into extensions and a quick fix for a broken nail.

These tips are frosted matte with no C-curve, so they sit flat and blend easily into your own nail. Each box holds 150 tips in 12 sizes, laid out on five strips of 30.

Pick your shape and your box count

Order two or three boxes of the same shape when you do extensions for friends or clients. One box is a good start for personal use.

  • Long Coffin: a squared, tapered tip for the longest wear.
  • Long Oval: a softer, rounded long shape.
  • Short Oval: a rounded tip for a neat, everyday length.
  • Short Coffin: a short, squared shape with straight sides.

What makes them different

  • Half cover: only the front of the nail gets the tip, so less product and less filing.
  • No C-curve: the tip is shallow and flat for an easy fit on most nail surfaces.
  • A thin back edge of 0.15 mm blends into the natural nail, with a 0.75 mm front edge for strength.
  • A numbered size chart on each strip, with sizes in millimeters.

How to apply them

  1. Prep the nail and choose the size that matches the width of your nail.
  2. Apply nail glue or builder gel to the tip and place it at the free edge.
  3. Press gently and hold, then cure if you are using gel.
  4. File the join smooth and finish with color and top coat.

Good to know

Tips are separate from glue, gel and lamp, which are not included. Try the sizes on the nail first and keep the leftovers on their strips. Photos show the tips on a strip with a size chart; the exact mix of sizes follows the chart in the photo.

Frequently asked questions

What is a half-cover tip?

It is a tip that covers only the front part of the natural nail, instead of the whole nail like a full-cover tip.

How many tips are in a box?

Each box holds 150 tips: five strips of 30, in 12 sizes.

Do I need to buff the tips?

The tips are frosted matte already. You will still want to blend the join with a file after application.

Which glue should I use?

Use nail glue or builder gel, as you would for other tips. Neither is included.

Can beginners use these?

Yes. The shallow half-cover shape and size chart make them a friendly place to start with extensions.
